Beach Plans Cancelled This Weekend!
Well, here’s the deal… We’ve got a box jellyfish warning on the south shores of Oahu (although it’s more precautionary at this point), it’s raining right now and there’s an impending storm on the way which is expected to hit sometime this weekend.
I actually kind of forgot that we’re in hurricane season now. The weather’s been great and there hasn’t been any reason to go see if the hurricane preparedness kit is ready. This reminds me that I should check the kit – especially the batteries and the spam. Remember that it should have enough supplies for three days – otherwise my mom is going to kill me! You know, parents, they’re big on making sure we’ve got the kits ready.
As for the jellyfish, they’ve been spotted at Ala Moana Beach Park which is where I intended to go. Bummer! My older son is afraid of them. While he loves the water, one word that there might even be a hint of a jellyfish nearby and you’ll find him sitting on the sand saying that he likes it better there. Yeah right!
So I guess my beach plans are cancelled for this weekend, but I included a shot of the beach so both you and I can at least look at what could’ve been!
